We already know that freedom is under attack here in The United States. We know that it has been for at least 100 years. Whether you are a republican, a democrat, an independent, a libertarian or someone like me that hates being categorized but just loves his country, I think at the very least most of us can come to the conclusion that our country is being lost. We know that “things” are not right; maybe some of us do not know what those “things” are yet but we know they are not right. We as a people are probably feeling a lot like our countrymen, including our Founding Fathers, felt in the 1750’s, 1760’s, and 1770’s. We have already had several non-violent (thank God) tea parties to protest the growing of our government and the taxes that will inevitable come. More tea parties are sure to follow also. People everywhere are speaking out, joining groups like Glenn Beck’s 9/12 project. People are connecting through sites like meetup.com to well, meet up, and talk about the issues of the day. People are getting together to discuss solutions to our problems. Some people are creating blogs to try and get out the message and educate people and themselves on the founding of this country. Some are doing all of the above.
We are all trying to wake others up to the dangers of this amazingly strong and complex progressive movement in America. What kind of country do we have here when government can come in claiming eminent domain and take private property away from people? Life, Liberty, and Property, whatever happened to that? What kind of country are we living in when the government can take away from those that produce and give to those that do not? Does any of this sound like the United States of America?
"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 to 2005
