Part Three: American Values and Principles
So why is it in today’s world and in all actuality the last one-hundred years, have many in our own government sought the destruction of a document that was influenced by the Hand of God. But wait maybe some don’t know enough about our founding, our founding fathers, our Constitution, and our history to know that a miracle happened here in America.
Consider this: “The United States represents approximately 5% of the world’s population but has created more new wealth than all the rest of the world combined. Moreover, during this time period we have never suffered a famine, this in spite of the fact that even today famines continue to stalk the world over. Throughout history people have gone hungry and many have starved, in spite of their fertile land and manpower to work it.” The Assyrians, Persians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans all suffered famine at one time or another. “For more than a hundred years the United States has been the food basket of the world.”
“During the past two hundred years the United States has out distanced the world in extending the benefits of inventions and discoveries to the vast majority of its people in such fields as medicine, housing, education, power-energy, transportation, space, aircraft, and agriculture. Furthermore Americans have been responsible for more discoveries and inventions in science and elsewhere than any nation on earth. Its young men and women have fought in wars throughout the world in defense of freedom, asking nothing for their efforts and sacrificing their lives in return. The United States is always the first nation to provide relief and aid to other nations that have had natural calamities, sometimes even providing aid to our enemies. We have given more dollars in aid and relief than most of the world nations combined. In spite of our largess we are the target of the hate and envy of the rest of the world.” (Quoted from The Five Thousand Year Leap)
Another question for you: "How, in less than 250 years, has the American population built the most prosperous, the most powerful, the most advanced civilization ever?" The Europeans have been around thousands of years longer than we have -- the Asians much longer than that -- and yet we run rings around every one of them, and everybody else, too. It's not even close. It's not a contest in any way that you want to measure. So how can it be that less than 300 million Americans can rule the world as it never has been ruled before, in less than 250 years of existence? Have you ever really stopped to ask yourself this question? How did this happen? Why did it happen? What makes America different from the rest of the world? We as people are no better than anyone else, we are not special biologically speaking. Yet no other population of people in any country has ever approached our economic prosperity in wealth, our power. No nation in the history of civilization has so dominated the world for good, as has the United States of America. We have liberated over a hundred million people from bondage and slavery. We feed the world. We clothe the world. We provide disaster relief in all circumstances to friend and foe alike. We're the only nation on earth that can. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself how in human history this came about? What makes this possible?" (Quoted from Rush Limbaugh)
