After watching the Glenn Beck show the other night I decided to write this blog to try and show people one aspect of what the progressive movement is all about. What I am going to write about now, most of which I got off of Glenn Beck's program, is how the progressives felt about eugenics. Basically the progressives of that era and now want to set up a type of oligarchy, the few of them ruling over all of us "dumb" people that believe in the United State Constitution. They see themselves as the "elite" and that they should force their laws on us because we are too stupid to know what is good for us. Lets look at a quote from Walter Lippmann who is revered in the journalism world.
Walter Lippmann: "The common interests very largely elude public opinion entirely and can be managed only by a specialized class whose personal interest reach beyond the locality."
That was then, This is now. Any similarities from another progressive?
Ya 60 votes, forget that stuff, forget the Constitution it doesn't matter anymore. Drag us to health care we are too stupid to know what is good for us. Ya wake up with an interns head in your bed, its just another stupid, worthless American. Anyone ever heard of eugenics? These people don't care what they do as long as they get what they want passed, for the rest of us little people of course.
Lets take a look at what another progressive said in a response to a letter that was sent to him from a Charles Davenport, founder of American Eugenics, and this progressive was an American President:
"Dear Mr. Davenport I am 'greatly interested' in the memoirs you have sent me. They are very instructive... I agree with you... that society has no business to permit degenerates to reproduce their kind. It is really extraordinary that our people refuse to apply to human beings such elementary knowledge as every successful farmer is obliged to apply to his own stock of breeding. Any group of farmers who permitted their best stock not to breed, and let all the increase come from the worst stock, would be treated as fit inmates for an asylum."
Theodore Roosevelt
Now who is Charles Davenport? As stated earlier he was the founder of American eugenics and was personally responsible for 65,000 American sterilizations. Also Davenport, an American citizen, during World War II maintained contact with Germany and helped them with their eugenics programs, what we call today the Holocaust.
Now someone from today:
John Holdren, one of President Bill Clinton's science advisors from 1994 to 2001 and now science advisor and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy appointed by President Obama (wonder what they are doing there in the science department?)
John Holdren said: "Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exist today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements."
That was in the late 70's, I am sure they have it now don't you think?
When you think about eugenics and creating a master race Hitler and Germany might first come to mind but this type of thinking got its start right here in America with the progressives and progressive presidents like Theodore Roosevelt.
T.R. "The presence of the negro is the real problem; slavery is merely the worst possible method of solving the problem."
That is kind of like saying "the problem with Scotland is that it's full of Scots." (Braveheart quote)
Lets see what another progressive President thinks like.
Woodrow Wilson: "The white men of the south were aroused by the mere instinct of self-preservation to rid themselves, by fair means or foul, of the intolerable burden of governments sustained by the votes of the ignorant Negroes."
Today you can take out the "ignorant Negroes" and put in members of the tea-parties. It is members of the tea-parties, you know people that believe in a small federal government, low taxes, and personal responsibilities, that are called the racist today. We are the ones they are coming after and attacking. All of this is just a way to defame the tea party people when the real people that believe in a society of us and them are the progressives.
Has anything changed? You decide?
