Someone asked me, “Howard, you’ve always recommended we ‘buy low and sell high.’ Well, the stock market is low right now. Shouldn’t this be a buying opportunity?”
The answer in one word? No.
You see, the market isn’t low as measured by its high PE (Price Earnings ratio) and sagging earnings, which will only get worse as time goes on. Stocks cannot withstand the major inflation we’ll see towards the end of 2009.
So don’t listen if someone tries to suck you into stocks. They’ll only be trying to get you to play a short-term trader’s game. And that’s a loser’s game.
stick with the long-term trend.
Inflation.
Remember Will Rogers said, “Invest in inflation, it’s the only thing that’s going up.”
The most money made by betting on inflation will be made while the fundamentals are being set.
WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT
FIRST: As hard as it may be to do, cool your jets on the stock market right now. Remember how many “Sucker’s Rallies” there were in the Great Depression? Six. Buying low right now just wouldn’t be low enough.
SECOND, I’ve talked about the great headstart you have over the inflation we may start seeing later this year. Well, you really need to take advantage of that headstart. Consider gold and silver. Consider any important “tangible” you can buy at these pre-inflation prices.

Swine Flu Update
WHO: Swine flu pandemic has begun, 1st in 41 years
The last pandemic -- the Hong Kong flu of 1968 -- killed about 1 million people. Ordinary flu kills about 250,000 to 500,000 people each year.
In the United States, there have been more than 13,000 cases and at least 27 deaths from swine flu.
"At this early stage, the pandemic can be characterized globally as being moderate in severity," WHO said in the statement. "Phase 6, if we call a phase 6, doesn't mean anything concerning severity, it is concerning geographic spread ... Pandemic means global, but it doesn't have any connotation of severity or mildness," WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl said.

They started out being ruled by a king. After years of rule by a monarchy (rule by one) there was a revolution which overthrew the king and the people established a republican form of government. They drafted a constitution that was to obtain fuller security of person and property. It defined the limits of government, it safeguarded the community against abuses of personal liberty, it gave the right of appeal to a popular assembly. They built a republic that limited government power and left the people alone. Since government was limited the people were free to produce with the understanding that they could keep the fruits of their labor. In time the country became wealthy and the envy of the world.
In the midst of plenty however the people forgot what freedom entailed. They forgot that the essence of freedom is the proper limitation of government. When governments power grew the peoples freedom receded. Once the people dropped their guard power hungry politicians began to exceed the powers granted them in the constitution. Some learned that they could elect politicians who would use government power to take from some and give it to others. Agriculture subsides were introduced, followed by housing and welfare programs. A single politician was elected leader and he soon found himself at serious odds with people in his own government mainly about the redistribution of wealth. Soon this politician tried to take his message straight to the people he wanted to give things to people, by-passing the senate to do so. His "experiment in state socialism was sharply criticized."
Inevitable taxes went up and controls over the private sector were imposed. Soon a number of the countries producers were no longer able to make ends meat and they went on the dole. Productivity declined, shortages developed, and people started to make their voices heard being reluctant to hand over any surplus for distribution to the unemployed. Then mobs began roaming the streets demanding things from the government. Many were induced to trade freedom for security. Eventually the whole system came crashing down. The republican constitution was progressively disjointed and paralysed. They went from a republic, to a democracy, and ended up an oligarchy (rule by a few) under the oppression of their leaders.

Don't Hate Me Because I am Beautiful
I saw this picture on The Drudge Report a couple of days ago with no link or caption of any kind. With a little research I found out the woman that our classless first lady is destroying in her American hating little mind is none other than the First Lady of France Carla Bruni, you know the former Supermodel. If any of you have any more on this please post a comment. Sure glad people around the world love America once again thanks to the Obamas. Not sure what we think about them though.
Free Health Care is Going to Cost
Yes you can read, the title is right, free health care is going to cost you. Remember President Obama saying "95% of you will get a tax break." Well that little tax break won't even be enough to pay the extra you are spending on cigarettes if you smoke, and oh believe me that is just one example of how, you the average person, is paying more to the federal bloated government. Now read this headline from Bloomberg: Democrats Weigh Health Mandate as Obama Urges Taxing Wealthy.
No thanks, seen that dancing pony before Mr. President. Not only will we all be paying for this "free" health care but you won't even have a choice if you want health care or not. "House Democrats discuss a plan to require health insurance for most Americans." Now read this next one slowly so it sinks into the gray matter. "An outline of the plan obtained by Bloomberg News would require Americans to have insurance with some exceptions.
It would probably exempt those who can prove they can’t find an affordable policy. There could be a tax penalty for those with adequate financial resources who don’t elect to get insurance, according to the outline.
That is great isn't it? Gives you a real good incentive to work hard and make something of yourself in this country doesn't it? Did you know that some of the poor little people that do not have health care are those that choose not to have any? Either they are young and do not want it or rich and do not need it. Now you will be punished either way because remember you will be required to have "free" health care.
"The outline suggests consumers who have individual health insurance policies that they like could keep them. Still, it says that “by and large” the nation’s market for individually purchased health insurance policies would move to a new federally operated exchange.
Oh ya give it to me baby, that is great, I mean the government is awesome at running things. Just look at the post office, I mean smooth, efficient, on time. . . What no wait, are you serious? The Post Office is what? Broke and losing money also. That's hard to believe. Oh well you win some, lose some. I am sure free government run health care will work like a charm and it won't cost us "a dime."

The current system, based on highly unstable income tax revenue that fluctuates with the economy, “doesn’t work,” Schwarzenegger said."

"Advocates of a flat tax, which applies a single tax rate to all income, say it increases compliance with the tax codes because it is so simple and easy to understand. But opponents dislike that it taxes the wealthy at the same rates as the poor."
In other words opponents dislike it because it is fair.

Spending Your Tax Money Is Not Working
Read this little excerpt from My Way News: "...big government spending programs are turning out to have the opposite effect."
Well no s**t, any reader of history, no I will do one better, anyone that has a lick of common sense knows this. They call it a catch-22 in the article which I totally disagree with, they claim: "Kick-starting the economy requires higher spending, but rising rates mean fewer Americans will be able to refinance their home loans."
Ya not so much. Can anyone out there imagine coming home and to your wife/husband and them telling you "hey we are out of money and up to our eyeballs in debt, we are going to lose our house." And your response is: "That's ok when we lose the house lets take a bunch of our money and buy a yacht to live on." Now anyone with some common sense can see these people spending money is not going to kick-start their lives and make it any easier on them. They are broke and any money they spend is either borrowed or they stole it. Now what makes the federal government any different. Now just imagine Timothy Geithner and Ben Bernake coming into the president and saying: "Mr. President we are out of money and the economy is tanking." Then the President says: "Well I think we need to spend our way out of this mess." Then the other two geniuses agree. Doesn't make too much sense does it folks?
BIG GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS AND BIG GOVERNMENT SPENDING DOES NOT WORK, DIDN'T WORK IN THE 30'S ISN'T GOING TO WORK NOW. WE'RE SCREWED.

"Socialist here in America no, never happen," they say.
In Britain, Prime Minister Gordon Brown was facing a showdown with rebel lawmakers on Monday after the party's expected dismal results in the European parliament and local elections were announced.
Brown has been struggling with the economic crisis and a scandal over lawmakers' expenses. The opposition Conservatives are expected to win the next national election, which must be called by June 2010.

Unemployment Rate Hits 9.4%; Thank God For Obama's Stimulus Package
So let me see if I have everything correct here or not. In January the Obama administration put out a paper talking about why we desperately need to pass the stimulus bill. In this paper (that I will link to and show you a graph of below) The administration said that if the stimulus would pass, the unemployment rate would never rise above 8%. Its peak would be around 7.9% later towards the end of the year.
The administration’s report also showed that the unemployment rate would be about 8.1% in April now if they had done nothing. Well in April the unemployment rate was 8.5% already. WOW this is very perplexing. I can't quite wrap me tiny little brain around this (yes I know I wrote me, that's the point). We need this stimulus bill to keep unemployment under 8%. Well we have the crapulus bill and this month unemployment, with the bogus numbers we are getting, is; are you ready for this, drum roll please: 9.4%. TaDa!

Government Accidentally Post List of US Nuclear Sites

WASHINGTON (AP) - The government accidentally posted on the Internet a list of all civilian nuclear sites and their activities in the United States.
The 266-page document was published on May 6 as a transmission from President Barack Obama to the U.S. Congress. According to the document, the list was required by law and will be provided to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Some of the pages are marked "highly confidential safeguards sensitive."

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in a rare public rebuke of central banks, suggested the European Central Bank and its counterparts in the U.S. and Britain have gone too far in fighting the financial crisis and may be laying the groundwork for another financial blowup.
"I view with great skepticism the powers of the Fed, for example, and also how, within Europe, the Bank of England has carved out its own small line," Ms. Merkel said in a speech in Berlin. "We must return together to an independent central-bank policy and to a policy of reason, otherwise we will be in exactly the same situation in 10 years' time."

ATLANTA — The Justice Department has rejected Georgia's system of using Social Security numbers and driver's license data to check whether prospective voters are citizens, a process that was a subject of a federal lawsuit in the weeks leading up to November's election.
"This flawed system frequently subjects a disproportionate number of African-American, Asian and/or Hispanic voters to additional, and more importantly, erroneous burdens on the right to register to vote," Loretta King, acting assistant attorney general of the Justice Department's civil rights division, said. King's letter was sent to Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker on Friday. Secretary of State Karen Handel blasted DOJ's decision, saying it opens the floodgates for non-citizens to vote in the state. "Clearly, politics took priority over common sense and good public policy," said Handel.
Handel said the checks were designed to follow federal guidelines to ensure the integrity of the vote and that those eligible are casting ballots. But the ACLU and the Mexican American defense fund sued, saying the efforts amounted to a "systematic purging" of rolls just weeks before the election. Separately, the U.S., Supreme Court is considering a challenge to the portion of the Voting Rights Act requiring Georgia and select other states to seek approval before tinkering with election law.
Let me just impose a little bit of; what's that stuff called again, you know a lot of people use to have it but today it is kind of scarce...what is that stuff called? Oh ya COMMON SENSE!

It doesn't seem to be a problem when people are getting a loan now does it? This is nothing more than party politics trying to pander for votes anyway they can get them.

LONDON -- President Barack Obama reiterated that Iran may have some right to nuclear energy _ provided it takes steps to prove its aspirations are peaceful.
Now a quote from the President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "Israel must be wiped off the map … The establishment of a Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world ."
In a BBC interview broadcast Tuesday, Obama also restated plans to pursue direct diplomacy with Tehran to encourage it to set aside any ambitions for nuclear weapons it might harbor. "Without going into specifics, what I do believe is that Iran has legitimate energy concerns, legitimate aspirations," Obama Said. Now Ahmadinejad: "Israel is destined for destruction and will soon disappear"Israel is "a contradiction to nature, we foresee its rapid disappearance and destruction."
"Although I don't want to put artificial time tables on that process, we do want to make sure that, by the end of this year, we've actually seen a serious process move forward. And I think that we can measure whether or not the Iranians are serious," Obama said. Oh I would say they are serious you... (be respectful, he is the President). It would be my guess that we will see a move this year; We will see a move forward by Israel and a move back to the 1800's for Iran when Prime Minister Netanyahu tells Obama to go play with his hotwheels (you know GM and Chrysler) and leave running a country to him.
Ahmadinejad: "With God's help, the countdown button for the destruction of the Zionist regime has been pushed by the hands of the children of Lebanon and Palestine . . . By God's will, we will witness the destruction of this regime in the near future." Ya President Obama lets sit down and negotiate with these kind of people. How will this negotiation start, I imagine something like this:
President Ahmadinejad: We want to kill all of the Zionist and all of you dumb Americans also.
President Obama: Well, uh, what if we, uh let you take off one of our, uh fingers.

Welcome To The New Banana Republic Of The United States of America and Black Markets. We would not, under any circumstances, believe our government would make decisions flying in the face of sacred United States contract law. What they have done to auto company bondholders is to favor unions for political votes forcing bondholders into a lower, non-preferred payment order. This says corporate contracts in the United States are now meaningless.Auto union people were moved to the head of the bankruptcy line while bondholders with a preferred first lien position by CONTRACT LAW, are now forced to the end of the line.
If your government will do this to auto bondholders, what will they do to the Sheeple?
I just saw a report that FDR taxes in the 1930’s were temporarily as high as 80-90%. I have not confirmed this but pass it along for what it’s worth. Destruction of wealth by the Obama administration is moving breathtakingly faster in escalation mode reinforcing Marc Faber’s prediction of certain hyperinflation.
Should the Federal Reserve stop their reliquification-reflation program, the whole system could cave-in overnight. So far, they’ve tossed roughly $2 Trillion of taxpayer cash at all these problems but Bill Gross at Pimco says they must inject a total of $6 Trillion to begin to cover the messes creating a recovery market reaction.
We would expect a world-wide systemic crack-up at around $4 Trillion as key components of the global credit and bond markets in Europe, Asia and the U.S. will simply not be able to take it. Our expectations for the next 90 days are for convoluted choppy markets with a mild stocks’ selling event in the shorter term.
The Sheeple are girding for economic and potentially civil war. Gun and ammunition sales are off-the-charts. Tea parties are growing. The next stage will be street violence confrontations and more civil disobedience. Governmental pushback will only incite more riots and escalate troubles. States are releasing inmates from over-crowded prisons to save money. Crime shall soon go to the moon. This dire situation presents very big trouble with a potential for bank runs, seizure of pension plans to be converted for government usage (theft) and higher taxes. The newly proposed VAT tax could take an additional 25% more of your spendable income. Markets are nearing a peak in precious metals shares that generally follow primary stock indexes. When the current stock market peaking descends into the Sell in May, PM shares normally follow. With each cycle we think gold and silver shares might sell less posting higher lows. This could be decided on the shorter term by how low S&P’s trade. We expect 800 to 850 with 800 being more probable.
Do not get tangled-up in daily noise. Keep studying the larger view and buy precious metals after each profit-taking correction. Headwinds are building into an economic hurricane. Take care of business right now. My dire fall prediction might surprise us and arrive earlier. Time is short.
Personally, I can see unbelievable opportunities to trade that we would never see again for many years. Turn these problems into opportunities. Those on the right side of the trade might get rich. Those on the other side are just victims. Stay Alert. –Traderrog

A Very Sad Day; Good Bye Chevrolet
GM Files for Bankruptcy:
In bankruptcy, the auto maker will split apart into two companies: a leaner new GM and a so-called old GM, which will include the pieces that will be wound down. GM intends to accomplish the split through a Section 363 sale, which would transfer the new GM assets to an entity owned by the U.S. and Canadian governments, the United Auto Workers union and the company's unsecured creditors. GM's restructuring has been carefully planned by the company itself and the Treasury Department, but it faces some uncertainty now that its fate is in the hands of a bankruptcy judge. The judge chosen to handle the case will have a major impact on the outcome of the case, especially if dissident bondholders mount a legal challenge to the restructuring. Judge Sonia Sotomayor Is Incompetent
Judge Sonia Sotomayor is totally incompetent to be called a judge let alone a Supreme Court Justice. Before You Swear an Oath Try Reading The Constitution.
This is the Oath the President must take before taking office: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." Ya not so good of a job Mr. President
This is the oath a Supreme Court Justice must take:
"I, [NAME], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as [TITLE] under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God."
Now some quotes from Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor: "I strive never to forget the real world consequences of my decisions on individuals, business and government." I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich.
Doesn't really sound like it does it?
Next quote: “The court of appeals is where, before the Supreme Court makes the final decision, the law is percolating — it’s interpretation, it’s application.”
No Judge it is up to the appeals court to correct errors that other courts may or may not have made in the law. The law is not there "percolating" for you to come along and change it based on your bias and racism. Which reminds me, now for her completely racist remark:
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life." Lady Justice is blindfolded for a reason Judge Sotomayor. Justice does not see black or white, hispanic or chinese, man or women, rich or poor; Justice sees the LAW, lady.

As President Obama's Supreme Court nominee comes under heavy fire for allegedly being a "racist," Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, a group that's promoted driver's licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police. Obviously President Obama has no idea what being a Supreme Court Justice is all about when he spoke of "empathy" as a criteria for the job. I assure you he is getting exactly what he wants. Someone that will help him impose his view of the world on everyone else instead of a strict interpretation of the Law.

With Judge Sonia Sotomayor already facing questions over her 60 percent reversal rate, the Supreme Court could dump another problem into her lap next month if, as many legal analysts predict, the court overturns one of her rulings upholding a race-based employment decision.
This case involves New Haven firefighter Frank Ricci who filed a reverse discrimination case against the city of New Haven. First off why is it called reverse discrimination, it is discrimination plan and simple. What happened was that the city of New Haven, Connecticut, decided to create a new examination for promoting firefighters. Once the exam was given the city could only hire the top scorers on the exam and most of them were white. The city's Civil Service Board (CSB)then held public hearings on whether to certify the results of the examinations. They decided not to certify the results and then some firefighters sued the city as mentioned above. A trial judge found in favor of the city and to appeals court we go. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals of which Judge Sotomayor was on, also ruled in favor of the city. So here we have a test that these firefighters were supposed to take and studied several months for their promotions. Just because seven out of the nine the city could hire were white these people will not get their promotions. This is what kind of judge we will soon have in the Supreme Court if we do not make our voices heard. I will administer justice without respect to persons.
This judge alo seems to be unaware of the fact that we have three branches of government here in the United States: The Executive, The Judicial, and The LEGISLATIVE. In case she missed this in middle school I will tell her now: The LEGISLATIVE BRANCH is where POLICY is made. The Courts follow the law.
